Airbnb co-founder Joseph Gebbia sold 2,093,303 shares of the company’s Class A stock on July 27, 2026, for $315,911,789, one of the largest single insider sales at the company this year.

The transaction lands as Airbnb navigates a stretch of brand and platform changes while the stock trades near multi-month highs.

The sale was disclosed in a Form 4 filing with the SEC, and Gebbia now controls a total of 2,953 Class A shares, according to a MarketScreener report on the filing.

The remaining stake is a fraction of what Gebbia held earlier this summer, before a series of scheduled disposals.

A pattern of scheduled sales

The July 27 sale is the latest in a pattern stretching back to June, when Gebbia’s Sycamore Trust began shedding shares in tranches ranging from a few thousand to more than 290,000 at a time.

Those earlier sales, including a $38.5 million disposal on July 13 and a $35.5 million sale spread across July 15 and 16, were all executed under a Rule 10b5-1 trading plan Gebbia adopted on February 27, 2026, a mechanism that lets corporate insiders schedule trades in advance to avoid conflicts tied to nonpublic information.

Gebbia co-founded Airbnb and continues to serve as a company director, giving his stock moves outsized attention from shareholders even when they follow a preset schedule.

The steady drawdown comes as Airbnb works through leadership changes in its policy ranks and courts new traveler segments through initiatives like its push into rural European markets.

Airbnb is scheduled to report second-quarter earnings on August 6, 2026.

That release will be the next disclosure investors get on the company’s performance since Gebbia’s latest sale hit the SEC filing system.
