Key Takeaways

  • Hospitable now automates lodging tax compliance across all 50 states
  • The system handles registration, calculation, filing and remittance
  • Hospitable has already remitted more than $4.5 million for hosts

Hospitable says it has officially become the first property management system to fully automate lodging tax compliance, covering registration, calculation, filing, and remittance in a single system, across all 50 U.S. states.

The company has already remitted more than $4.5 million in lodging taxes on behalf of short-term rental hosts. Now, it is expanding the service to more operators.

The problem Hospitable is targeting becomes especially complicated once hosts move beyond a single booking platform.

Airbnb and other platforms collect and remit lodging taxes in many jurisdictions. But operators accepting direct bookings or listing across multiple online travel agencies are often left to manage the remaining obligations themselves, navigating a patchwork of state, county and local rules that can change from one market to the next.

“One of the biggest myths in our industry is that growth is simply a distribution challenge. The short-term rental industry has become incredibly good at helping operators generate bookings, but what’s received less attention is the operational complexity that comes with that growth,” Pierre-Camille Hamana, CEO and Founder of Hospitable, told REWire media in a news release.

Hosts no longer need to navigate local tax requirements, monitor filing schedules, or keep pace with changing regulations across multiple jurisdictions.

The reach extends beyond the U.S.

Hospitable has also rolled out tax compliance automation in the UK and Australia, positioning the platform as a single compliance layer for operators with international portfolios.

For hosts relying on short-term rental data tools to expand into new markets, automated tax handling removes one of the last manual choke points in multi-market operations.
