Delta SkyMiles members earn three miles per dollar on Airbnb experiences and services bookings starting this month, triple the one-mile-per-dollar rate for home stays.

The expanded partnership marks Airbnb’s most aggressive push yet to drive adoption of product lines that have struggled since launch.

Both Experiences and Services got off to sluggish starts, and Airbnb is now piloting offerings in select cities to identify what works, according to Skift.

The partnership, which began in 2016, previously rewarded only stays.

Members now link their Delta and Airbnb accounts once at deltaairbnb.com, opening a 10-day booking window.

Any qualifying reservation made during that period earns miles automatically.

The window refreshes as often as members want. An estimated mileage total appears next to eligible listings before checkout.

For hosts, the math is straightforward. Airbnb just made your local competitor – the tour operator or in-home chef who books Experiences and Services through the platform – worth three times more to the average Delta flyer than your rental.

The incentive structure now favors activity providers over property operators, at least among the 13 million travelers in Delta’s loyalty program.

Airbnb reports Q1 earnings this week, and management is expected to address whether the Experiences bet is finally paying off.
